New information has come to light concerning the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

A Discovery

As detailed in an account citing a confidential source, a massage therapist scheduled for an session first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the home. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

When she went into the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now being held and denied bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source challenged several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Furthermore pushed back against widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to accounts of reportedly "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

Per law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports indicated the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the residence. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
